New content
September 16 parliamentary candidates from the UDF and members of their teams wil remind the authorities about the kidnapped politicians and journalists. The decision was taken August 31 by the Political Coucil of the United Democratic Forces. The initiative for holding the action for reminding about the victims of political repression was stated by Zinajida Hancar, wife of the politician Viktar Hancar kidnapped in 1999.
During the 1998-2000 two politicians – Jury Zacharanka and Viktar Hancar, the businessman Anatol Krasouski, and the camera operator Zmicier Zavadzki were kidnapped. The international community suspects some of the higher officials of complicity in these crimes. But an objective investigation of the criminal cases has not been carried out hitherto.
